这是1997年新加坡国家艺术理事会委约作品，乐曲就像一条“百纳被”- 摘用了亚细安十个成员国每首国歌里的一句（旋律）组成一个联合的旋律，试图反映亚细安和谐共处，亲密无间的精神。在乐曲的前奏与尾声之间所应用国歌片段顺序如下：越南，印度尼西亚，泰国，马来西亚，新加坡，菲律宾，汶莱，柬普寨，寮国以及缅甸。

Commissioned by Singapore National Arts Council in 1997, the work incorporates a line (melody) each from the national anthems of ASEAN member countries to reflect the harmonious coexistence and spirit of close rapport. In between the prelude and finale, the appearance of national anthems goes in this order – Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Brunei, Cambodia, Laos and Burma.
