我们的价值观和审美观到底怎么了 ….......

国歌新唱

       今天第一次听到由号称“马来摇滚之父”Ramli Sarip 以“随心随意”的方式唱出“新版本”国歌，也看到了网上许许多多爱憎参半的留言评论，有点杂味纷陈。第一感觉就有如其中一个留言“He sang it right.. He knew Singapore is not the same anymore.. ”他唱得对，他知道新加坡已经不再和以往一样 ....... ？（究竟是悲是喜？！）

       社会环境变迁，教育价值改变都会令一个国家以及其国民对国家的心态改变，现在的年轻人绝大多数和他们上一代或上上一代的想法品味价值都大不相同，时代改变，或许这也自然？！只是一个人对事物的感情（从个人 - 家庭- 国家）往往都基于记忆，简单来说，如果能有所选择，谁不愿意回到那充满温馨回忆的过去？一个国家历史不长，又不懂得珍惜记忆的国家的国民，只顾“自我感觉良好”，会真正爱国吗？

       因此，我对网上的这个留言很有同感：

IMHO, National anthem is sacred. It should be sung with honour and respect in official event. It should not be tainted. Otherwise, we will have jazz version, blues version, disco version, rap version, hip-hop version of our national anthem. Artistically, and musically, it's beautiful but it is not appropriate for singing the national anthem, no matter how touching and how moving is the rendition! He sang it so well, with so much emotions, so moving and in unusually sad manner. But for once I thought it was sung during the funeral of one of our great leaders. YM Chong（国歌是神圣的，它应该是以光荣崇敬的方式在官式场合演唱，它不应该受到污染。不然，我们也可以有爵士乐，蓝调，迪斯科，饶舌，嘻哈等等不同版本的国歌了。从艺术与音乐感的角度，它（Ramli 的演唱）很美好，只是并不适合于演唱国歌，无论这个版本多感人，而他出色的以一种深情动人以及不寻常的悲哀方式演唱国歌，一时之间竟让我以为他是在我们伟大领导人的丧礼上演唱。 YM Chong）

       “艺术”或许可以天马行空甚至任意妄为，但也只限于在其“国度”以内，况且，真正的艺术也讲究“恰如其分”。论及“恰如其分”，对待国旗国歌莫非也应该如此？因为国旗和国歌一样都是代表了一个国家的崇高庄严形象（尤其在像国庆庆典这样的庄严场景下），无论如何表达感情或创造力都不能改变这一点，就有如，你可以想象“为了亲民娱民”，可以修改国旗颜色设计，在纪念建国总理时把他的形象“流行化”？这究竟是愚蠢还是头脑不清？！

       在新加坡国歌法条文之下有提及国歌歌词以及旋律都决不能改动，就不知道，无论或多或少，如果改动旋律又是否犯法？（新加坡国歌条例之一：every arrangement of the National Anthem shall accurately reflect the complete tune ）

摘录新加坡国歌条例：

NATIONAL ANTHEM Occasions for performing National Anthem 11.—(1)The National Anthem shall be performed when the President receives a general salute. (2)The National Anthem may be performed or sung on any appropriate occasion. Respect for National Anthem 12.When the National Anthem is performed or sung, every person present shall stand up as a mark of respect. Musical arrangements of National Anthem 13.—(1)Any person performing or singing the National Anthem shall perform or sing the National Anthem according to the official arrangement in the Third Schedule or any other arrangement permitted under paragraph (2). (2)The National Anthem may be rearranged in any manner that is in keeping with the dignity due to the National Anthem, subject to the following conditions: (a) the National Anthem shall not be incorporated into any other composition or medley; and (b) every arrangement of the National Anthem shall accurately reflect the complete tune and the complete official lyrics of the National Anthem. (3)Any person who sings the National Anthem— (a) shall follow the official lyrics in the Third Schedule; and (b) shall not sing any translation of those lyrics.

疑问是：国歌条例可以容许双重或多重标准吗？记得当年在国歌重编会议上，已故文化奖得主作曲家梁荣平先生曾建议略微改动起拍三个音的节奏（并没有改动音符）都马上被否决！如今 …........ ！！！

上面所述也许过于严肃，以下是一些亦庄亦谐的有关网上评论摘录：

I personally feel that sometimes OLD is GOLD. Like my beloved National Anthem... I don't want remixes, new renditions, "modern twist" or "nostalgic twist". Just the same way the radio plays it at sunrise, same way I sung it in school, in army and every other national day parade. Don't change for the sake of changing

The national anthem was sang during school days, but now the anthem we SINGAPOREANS HAVE TO SHARE WITH PPL THAT don’t know our culture! What a change for SINGAPORE!

Lucky They did not manage to change the National Anthem in other language....It the only Malay Heritage/History....

Nice rendition but not an appropriate arrangement/ style for people to sing along. And it looks like he's singing live which is a departure from the usual lip synching at NDPs!

What’s next? Rap rendition of Home? Yo yo check it out where the River always flows...

I know we have to change..so everyday we changed here changed there. NG okay to follow..those MG maybe..but PG also wanna sing together in this big DAY..so PG lost you know..pls la..help the PG ..put back the old one la..love the original..that's Singapore..if papa don't like you all answer..lol

Is this the actual correct way to be sing? Meaning we have been singing wrong tone all along?!

Turned it into more like funeral song.

This year "rock" version. Next year ? Kpop?

Sometimes, there are songs you need to leave it as it is... just sayin’

He is a great performer but let’s call a spade, a spade. That was horrendously out of tune and his spin of the song made it unnecessarily melodramatic and solemn. Or maybe it’s justifiable because he’s mourning for Singapore. The most unforgivable thing is that by slowing down the anthem he actually extended the torturous NDP unnecessarily. That’s the ultimate crime.

Respect the pioneer. But in term of musicality. I reserve my comment.

Should have Michael Jackson rewrite the anthem when they have the chance.

Sound like funeral ⚰, it best not to mess with our national anthem, the original version still the best .

But that’s probably just how he felt during that moment. Simply a cathartic impulse of a dying flame.

Even though i like him as a singer, no one shd change how Majulah Singapura should be sung. Keep to the original.

Original National Anthem goes well with the pledge. We have the patriotic feeling . Your pulse can go beyond 100 . This new style make some citizens cry. Aug 9 please sing the original anthem

Although we may have different views against our government. This is somehow a place for us to call home. I have been to various countries and when I see their countries with high crime rates, government poorly handling their own citizens and natural disasters. I find myself lucky that I am born here. I still love our oldies national anthem.
